Condemned

Due to noisy early bird neighbours and a late night babysitting, i am once again in the small room. Here you can see the bed that had to be built in because of the lack of space. The laptop sat on a pile of junk. With the slim built to fit wardrobe behind. My spare bookcase, and the door. Oh. And my leg.

Mega dinner

Hectic is the only way to describe this. I almost died a few times from slippy floor on the way two and from sandwich getting. It's all the boss's fault. She wanted to try the place. It was an ok sandwich. Bacon, egg and mushroom. Got salad and little fried potatos too. But it was all too much. Price was good but a can of coke was one round fifty! And that, my friends, is a post about my lunch. X

messy pup

I was making a bit of a mess eating my apple. And then I made a bit more of a mess trying to shell off the chocolate to get to the wonderfully juicy apple in the middle. Usually they give you a nasty soft green one, don't they? But this was crunchy and red. Gorgeous.

I have an awesome brother.

And a banging headache. But it's been a great day!

Friday 15 August 2008

Good night...

Due to noisy neighbours and an early start at work tomorrow, I have retreated to the small room. Took a moment to uncover the bed. The fleas will feast on my flesh tonight like woah.

Scar

I got bored and did this :p

Jack

This is Jack, the dog that lives in the pub up the road. If's pretty big and likes to stretch out all the way across the pavement. I also found some snap dragons up the road! They take me right back to my school days!

Cloudy day

I saw the cloud covered sun reflected in a puddle today. I'm not sure yet how well it's turned out so I'll just say it's that glowing dot!

Monday 4 August 2008

I am awesome

My kids I look after came back from holiday and brought some presents round for me, including this personalised bear!

At the beach

What a beautiful day, hey hey! The levellers are apparently in the field next to us! X

Hmm

Something tells me I'm going to have to clear the crap off my bed if I want to sleep tonight.

Life of pie

I am once again a wearer of glasses. It's lovely to be able to read the onscreen tv guide. And i could read the signs in the shop clearly. I could even read cigarette packs behind the counter. Nice as it is to see, I shouldn't wear them too much in case my eyes in backwards!

Bubbles!

I like bubbles! Mum bought some the other day. Possibly just so we could blow them at my little darling Zharlee Wharlee, but Maggie and I ask to play and were given some each! They're Disney princess, but we have to make do, don't we? Anyway, we had a lovely day blowing bubbles, and it seemed to cheer up people around us and we didn't care if it blew in the faces of miserable people (which it sometimes did, hee). One man ran up to me and I had no idea what he wanted at first, but something clicked and I held up the stick for him to blow bubbles, which he did, and then he ran off! But my biggest bubble joy is blowing HUGE ones. I came back home today and found my bubbles on the table, so I thought I'd have some fun :) This one is as big as my head! And I managed to snap a few pictures before my kiss burst it!

Playing with my mind

Last week I saw these guys up on the scafolding and they climbed through a hole in the roof cut out for or from a window. The next day it was gone. No sign of disruption in the pattern and colour of the tiles or anything. I come back today and look what they've done! I know this isn't interesting but my life is boring!

This ole house

I was babysitting and trying to get the twins to go to bed when Devan ran and told me there was a rainbow. Bedtime was forgotten in favour of staring out her window at it! It shone right down to my house and the second, paler rainbow falls to the other side of it. :)

Whoosh

'twas a windy day at sea!

The beach

The beach is lovely in the late afternoon. While it's nice in worse weather (watching the waves crash and listening to the roar of the sea) it is beyond beautiful on a warm afternoon. There are always one or two men fishing along the way, people walking their dogs (one particular dog, drenched, decided to come and say hello to my previously dry mother) and families deciding to face the cold water in favour of an empty sea. By day (a good day, at least) the beach is packed!
I don't like to go in the sea generally. Stinky fish, pollution, cold water. But today, after MANY years of not doing so, I went in. And, really, it was quite nice once my screaming and swearing subsided.
Once upon a time, I was adventerous and fearless. Then something switched inside me and I started to fear my own shadow. But, today, it was ME who went in while my family watched from the sidelines. Mum kept saying how impressed she was that I went in. And I plan to go in again. Chris's family, who had invited us, is good for me. I've always admired and envied their intelligence, beauty and, most of all, their free spirited and fearless nature.
Next time I might go without my shorts. And sunglasses. The flip flops are debatable!
The weird thing is, I kept thinking back to the Festival of the Sea a couple of years ago. Glen had sailed the boat out and they were close enough to the shore to shout to us and talk. They told me to get in the water and swim over but I refused. I wish now that I hadn't. Whatever it is I fear all the time, it is pointless. Small things like stepping into the sea can be so liberating and wonderful, however silly it may seem.
And I need to start living a little more, I think.
But if I see anything creepy and squid like out there, that's it. Game over.
:P

Summertime

I live in a naval town. However, the military seems to be moving out slowly and the area began to die. The council tries to pretty it up with new paving, buildings and painting over the old, but it is the summer that really does the trick. Boats return. The beach looks beautiful. The harbour is busy. There's a pulse.

Ziggy and Delilah

Meet Ziggy and Delilah. They are my neighbours cats who I am currently looking after.
Ziggy, on the left, is my favorite. This sounds cruel, but she is my favorite through the neglect she has faced. The family used to have a dog and the dog was too big to be trusted with the cats and so they were kept in the back room. The oldest of the children, Kelly, favoured Delilah and used to take her up to her room and give her a lot of attention. Delilah got a collar. When the dog left, the cats were allowed around the house. But, as Kelly favoured Delilah, the twins wanted Delilah's love too (else it would seem unfair that she got to be Kelly's cat). They are getting better though, and Ziggy is getting the love she deserves. And I finally went and bought her a collar.
The pair of them are beautiful. Delilah used to be snow white with only grey ears and paws. Now she's got a good mixed of colour, including a ginger face. Though it's paler than Ziggy's. I have to admit though, Ziggy's colouring had drawn me to her since she was a kitten, so maybe she was always going to be my favorite? She also likes to nuzzle and lick my hand in the evening. I imagine she's just telling me she's hungry.

Distant Rain

On my way home from Bath, I was on the ferry and watching the sky. Half of it was bright blue and summery, the other was dark and grey. Then I spotted, over in the distance, the rain falling over a nearby town. Of all the sky, it was just that one section!

Mr motor fail

I had the day to myself in Fran and Gem's flat. The kittens and I were watching a dvd, minding our own business, when we heard this awful sound. The kits shot up in a fright and I went to investigate. For five minutes this guy was trying to get his bike to start. He gave up in the end and wheeled it off to the pavement. With the excitement over, I sat down. Ten minutes later the sound went again. Followed by some incredibly loud BANGS.
Poor sod.

Bath

This is the first picture of my blog. Obviously.
And it is the view from Platform two of Bath Spa Train Station.
I just think that it gives a great atmosphere, so have such short walls and incredible views......
